Hi, I’m Mike, the photographer behind MGantVisuals.
Based in York, I specialise in portrait photography that focuses on character, emotion, and timeless style. I enjoy photographing someone in natural light on the streets of the city or creating bold editorial type style inspired portraits, my goal is to create images that feel honest, artistic, and memorable.
Photography, for me, is about more than simply taking a picture. It’s about telling a story, capturing confidence, and creating photographs that people will still be proud to look back on years from now.
My work is heavily inspired by legendary photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, Helmut Newton, and Robert Mapplethorpe, whose images prove that simplicity, light, and genuine expression never go out of fashion. I love creating portraits that make you and the viewer tell their own story whether in colour or black and white that celebrate individuality rather than trends.
I welcome people of all experience levels, from those stepping in front of a camera for the very first time to models, creatives, artists, and professionals looking to build their portfolio or personal brand. My aim is to make every shoot relaxed, enjoyable, and collaborative so you can feel comfortable.
